Consistency Avoids Feast n Famine On LinkedIn

LinkedIn's algorithm loves consistency over frequency.

Posting twice a week regularly beats posting daily for two weeks then vanishing for a month. Why? Because the algorithm learns your pattern and your audience gets used to seeing you.

It's like networking: at Last Friday Club - Chichester, we meet monthly, and I've seen first-hand that those who show up every month see the greatest return in relationship building and business opportunities. Turning up once in a while then disappearing for six months just doesn't have the same impact.

The feast-and-famine approach confuses everyone - the algorithm, your audience, and probably you too. You post loads when you're motivated, then nothing when life gets busy, then you feel guilty about the gap, which makes it even harder to start again.

If you're only posting once a month, it's going to take nearly a year to build that familiarity. Post a couple of times a week? You've built that familiarity in just over a month.

We've all had those weeks when time runs away with us and posting feels like the last thing you want to do. But it's not about motivation, it's about being organised.

The secret weapon? Scheduling.

If your ideas and inspiration come in waves, you can schedule posts in advance right in LinkedIn. When you've got creative energy and a bit of time, batch-create a few posts and schedule them out. Then when life gets hectic, you're still showing up consistently.

💡 Finding the option: When you're creating a post, look for the little clock icon in the bottom right corner, just next to the Post button. Click that to "schedule for later" and choose your date and time.

🟢 ACTION: Pick a realistic posting rhythm you can actually maintain - whether that's once a week, twice a week, or fortnightly.
