Yes, I use AI tools
I'll admit it, I'm an embracer! People, dogs, new tech I'm hugging all of it.
I first started mucking about with AI (OpenAI aka ChatGPT) in 2022 — I hadn't the first clue what I was doing or how it could help me.
So I carried on mucking about with it. Testing stuff out, binning it, trying another prompt, binning it, another prompt, editing it ... until I finally figured out some of the best ways that it could help me and my clients with their content ideation and social media marketing.
AI is my ideas guy and my master summariser.
💡For ideas — it helps me when I feel like I'm running around in circles and getting nowhere — it shows me an alternative path to take.
📄 For summarising — this is where he saves me a heap of time. I work with organisations where government white papers are their jam; but ain't nobody got time to read all of that and if it's a particularly specialist area like the housing crisis or the levelling up agenda, it sends me cross-eyed.
So I feed the beast the text and ask him for the top XYZ critical takeaways, I tell him why I need it (e.g. a post on LinkedIn from such and such an organisation) and my audience is XYZ who care about XYZ. The good stuff happens when you give him content and specifics — that's the skill us humans bring to the table.
et voila, I have something that's got me 90% there. I still have to review, edit and ensure it's accurate and on voice; but to go from zero to hero is a good feeling.
If you fancy a sit down with me for an hour in RUME2 to see how you can work a little smarter and get comfortable with AI, I'm here for ya.
